High West’s entry level rye whiskey, Double Rye was one of the original products launched by the company around 2010. ![]() We recommend enjoying this whiskey neat or with a small amount of water so that the additional complexity can be fully appreciated. In 2015, High West opened its distillery in Wanship, Utah, which serves as space for educational whiskey tasting, pairings, and tours, and houses a 1600. This whiskey clocks in at 101.4 proof, or 50.7% ABV. Double Rye! is a whiskey known for its delicious cinnamon, clove and nutmeg flavors and the additional aging period provides another dimension of flavor, including some of the sweet corn and nougat notes you typically get from a bourbon. This barrel, number 11806, yielded only 210 bottles and features High West Double Rye!, finished for an additional 1 year and 5 months in a second-use bourbon barrel. Each bottle is hand-numbered and adorned with a commemorative brass tag that pays homage to Park City's rich mining heritage. The whiskey was blended in Utah by High West using water from local sources. High West Distillery Barrel Selects are unique-barrel finished versions of High West whiskeys. A sensational offering of a younger rye blended with a much older rye made from both rye and barley malt mashbill (53 rye and 37 corn) this is a sweet. Originally, Rendezvous Rye was not distilled in Utah, but instead a blend of a 6-year-old 95 rye whiskey and 16-year-old 80 rye whiskey sourced from MGP (Indiana) and Barton (Kentucky) respectively.
